The Union Peace Conference-the 21st Century Panglong Conference is crucial and, NCA-S EAO (Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement – Signatories, Ethnic Armed Organizations) will steadfastly cooperate in successfully holding the conference, said General Yawd Serk, chairman of the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) and acting leader of Peace Process Steering Team-PPST. 

He made the remark during a meeting of PPST formed with leaders of the 10 signatories  held in Nay Pyi Taw on August 18. 

“The fourth round of the peace conference is crucial for all of us. NCA-S EAOs will be trying hard and cooperating actively for the success of the conference,” General Yawd Serk. 

The peace conference will be held on a grand scale for the fourth time in Nay Pyi Taw from August 19 to 21. 

The general expressed the NCA-S EAOs for about eight months of their discussions to get three parts of the Union agreement necessary for the conference. 

More than 200 delegates from the government, the military, political parties and the NCA signatories.
